A bit about Veronica Surfaro
Veronica Surfaro GMBPsS, UKCP Reg.
Hello, welcome, and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile! I am Veronica, a qualified psychotherapist and a trainee counselling psychologist in the final stage of my doctoral degree.
I work with adults and have particular experience supporting university students and young adults, whom I have worked with since 2016. Additionally, I have worked for many years with university students receiving Disabled Students’ Allowance.
I also have a particular interest in mental health in alternative subcultures (goths, punks, etc.), and the impact of transgenerational processes.
I also have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent clients, clients with disability, chronic health challenges, and mental health difficulties.
I offer both short- and longer-term therapy, depending on what feels appropriate for you and work with people from a range of backgrounds and at different stages of life, experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, life transitions and feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
As an integrative practitioner, I am experienced in numerous evidence-based modalities and can tailor my approach to what feels most helpful to you. My training included humanistic counselling, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, family/systemic therapy, and creative/expressive techniques.
Sometimes we know we’re struggling, but we don’t quite know why or what to do about it. We might feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck; struggle in our relationships; or repeat patterns that no longer make sense. Sometimes there is no clear explanation at all; we simply know that something needs to change.
Whatever brings you to counselling, feel free to contact me to request a FREE 15-minute consultation so we can get to know each other better and see if we’re a good fit.
I can offer therapy in English and Italian.
